Terms of Use

These terms cover the Controller Dopamine iPhone app (on the US App Store as “Control Dopamine: Screen Time”) and the website at controllerdopamine.com. The app is published by GH SERVICOS DIGITAIS LTDA (“we”). By downloading the app or using the site, you agree to this draft where the law allows that kind of agreement.

The service

Controller Dopamine is a habit tool. You can block apps you choose, earn brain credits with activities such as walking, reading, meditation, exercise, and journaling, and spend credits to open a blocked app for a short window. The site explains the product. The app is the product.

Blocks depend on Apple’s Screen Time permission and on the version of iOS you run. A determined person can sometimes work around a screen-time tool. The app is a commitment device you set for yourself. It is not a guarantee that every workaround will fail.

Who can use it

The App Store age rating shown for the app is 4+. You need an Apple ID that is allowed to make the purchase. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms and complete the subscription. The current listing requires iPhone on iOS 17 or later.

Subscriptions, trials, and price

The app is free to download. Controller Dopamine Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold and billed by Apple. We do not see or store your full payment card number.

US App Store list prices, which are a guide and can change:

• ControlDopamine Pro Weekly — $6.99 per week.
• ControlDopamine Pro Monthly — $14.99 per month.
• ControlDopamine Pro Yearly — $49.99 per year.
• Annual Welcome Offer — $14.99, only when Apple shows you as eligible. This is not the regular yearly price.

Your currency, tax, intro offer, and renewal price are the ones on the App Store sheet you confirm. See the App Store for your local price. What you can use before you subscribe is shown in the app and may change.

A free trial exists only when that sheet says so. Recent versions have offered an annual trial to eligible subscribers and sold the monthly plan without a trial. Offers depend on plan, region, and Apple ID history. If any unused trial time is forfeited when you subscribe, Apple’s purchase sheet is the source for that rule.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges the renewal to your Apple ID within the 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the plan. Access continues until the period you already paid for ends.

Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms. If you live in a place that gives consumers a withdrawal right, a repair right, or another mandatory protection — including in Brazil, the UK, or the EEA — this draft does not take that away. To ask Apple for a refund, use Apple’s refund flow at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Acceptable use

Use the app and the site for yourself, in line with the law. Do not try to break, probe, overload, or resell them, and do not misuse someone else’s Apple ID. You are responsible for the activities you log and for the apps you choose to block.

Intellectual property

The app, the Controller Dopamine name, Yelo, and the text and design of this website belong to GH SERVICOS DIGITAIS LTDA or its licensors. Apple’s standard license terms also apply to the copy of the app you download. You receive a personal, non-transferable right to use the app. You do not receive a right to copy the mascot, the brand, or the site for another product.

Not medical advice

Controller Dopamine is a productivity and habit tool. It is not a medical device, not therapy, and not a treatment for addiction, ADHD, depression, anxiety, or any other condition. References to public research or books, including Anna Lembke’s Dopamine Nation and World Health Organization guidance on sedentary behaviour, are context for the idea. They are not endorsements, and they are not a promise that your screen time, mood, or health will change.

Disclaimers and liability

The app and the site are provided as available. We do not promise a specific drop in screen time, a particular feeling, or uninterrupted service. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some places do not allow those disclaimers, so part of this sentence may not apply to you.

To the extent the law allows, GH SERVICOS DIGITAIS LTDA is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from the app or the site. Our total liability for a claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid Apple for Controller Dopamine Pro in the three months before the claim, except where the law does not allow a limit — including liability that cannot be capped for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. The blocks and the activities are choices you make.

Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new date. Where the law allows notice-plus-continued-use to count as acceptance, keeping the app after the update means you accept the new terms. Price changes are shown by Apple before they apply.

Which law

We are a Brazilian company and this website is written for a US launch. This draft does not pick a court. Mandatory consumer protections where you live still apply. A lawyer should set a governing-law clause before anyone treats this draft as final.
